    Each 100 grams contains the following, approximately:
    • Calories (Energy): 286.1 Kcal (1198 KJ)
    • Protein: 43 grams
    • Carbohydrates: < 0.5 grams
    • Fat: 12.46 grams (of which 6.3 g are saturated)
    • Salt: 3.96 grams
    The meat used is loin from 100% Iberian pigs reared on the open range in Spanish pasturelands and fed with acorns and grass during the fattening period.

    Most of the outer fat and the tendons are removed. The meat is left for 48 hours in a marinade (adobo) of water, salt, garlic and spices and is then stuffed into a permeable artificial casing and cured in natural drying rooms for at least 80 days.

    It is different from classic loin sausage in that natural Cinco Jotas sausage is made without paprika, so the original flavor is not covered up by the spice. This product aims to recover a traditional Jabugo recipe in which the protagonist is Iberian pork.

    It is priced about 15-20% higher than the classic loin sausage because it comes from top-quality pieces (bigger and more marbled fat).

    Taste note
    The meat is flavorful with the spicy touch of pepper and the characteristic aroma of slow curing.
    Outer appearance
    Deep red in color and cylindrical. Cutting reveals the fat marbling and the shine that results when the fat melts at room temperature.
    Enjoying your lomo embuchado
    Because it has been vacuum packed, it should be removed from its wrapping 20 minutes before it is to be eaten to allow flavours to develop. Its ideal appearance, colour and consistency are achieved if it is allowed to air for 24 hours.

    Once the vacuum seal is broken the product must be removed from its bag. Store in the refrigerator between 3 and 6 ºC (37-43 ºF). Cover the cut area with transparent film to prevent drying.

    It is best to cut thin slices less than 1 mm thick.
